Take vitamins. prenatal vitamins help your nails grow & your hair grow.
It won’t harm you when you’re not pregnant.
Revivanail is awesome too.
It’s kinda hard to find but if you go to a beauty store like sally’s you’ll find it.

What you can do is use castor oil, When you are about to sleep in the night just apply few drops of castor oil on the nails and you will see the result in fortnight.

Take vitamins, your nails have alot to do with your diet, something like a One a Day will suffice, or even pre-natal vitamins. If you have a poor diet your nails will be weak and brittle. I used to bite my nails, they were beyond short and brittle. Then one day I stopped and grew them out. But you have to be dedicated, taking care of them will eventually become habit.
What i did was kept them painted (with a clear strengthening polish or one of those calcium treatments). Paint them at least once a week, keep it fresh. The calcium treatment I used to get my nails healthy was by Kiss, it was light pink but went on clear and stayed shiny so i could use that alone. Stay away from color polish until your nails get stronger. Also FILE dont cut your nails, i think this is really what made a big difference with me. Dont use a metal file, use an emery board, one with a fine grit, this leaves your nail edge smoother and less prone to splitting. When filing go in one direction.
Another thing to do is to push your cuticles back, dont cut them, push. It will probably hurt if you dont do it already, but the more you do it it will not. I do it subconsciously now, esp when im bored in class, it makes your polish look nicer too. So file, push back your cuticles and keep them painted, no miracle products or remedies. You wont see instant results as it will take a while for them to get stronger but dont give up! It works…
P.s. stay away from acrylic nails, those weaken your nails and even though they grow while you have them on, once you remove them your nails will be too weak and eventually break.
