Shep asked:

Have gotten over my cold but the constant rattling when I breathe just drives me nuts as I can’t seem to get it to break loose. I don’t smoke and am good health other wise. I don’t know if my sinuses are draining at night and causing this but the feeling of something being in my throat causes me to clear it constantly. Any suggestions ?

take brisk walks morning and night enough to get breathing well. drink only hot or warm liquids. stay away from cows milk products — especially ice cream, cream, and full fat milk. peppermint tea, lemon tea, and spicy foods with peppers. things with vinegar also cut the mucus

so any of these herbs act as expectorants or break up mucous: fenugreek, aniseed, horseradish (great for drying up sinuses), olive leaf (if strong infection has set in), echinaea (to boost immunity) and white horehound. Oh and garlic is always a good one. If you can find some or all of them in a liquid form that would be best otherwise capsule will do.
otherwise if all else fails, some drops of eucalyptus and tea trr oil in hot water and breathe in the vapours :) Gargling with salt water will help sore throat if that becomes an issue. good luck!

Sounds like a touch of pneumonia. Cut out the milk and dairy products, get lots of sun, and keep warm. Don’t take antibiotics, they might make the infection go away, but what comes back is worse.

an old natural remedie my great grandma passed on to me was a mustard plaster. it might sound gross.but it really works. 2tblspoons of dry mustard, 1tblspoon of baking soda, 1/2 cup of water, a paper back and 2 dishclothes. mix the ingredients, then put on clothes, then put them on ur upper chest (put one on you side), then cut thepaper bag and then wrap around you and hold for 20 minutes no longer or else it will burn your skin. repeat in morning and at night before bed. works excellent!

Steam is the easiest, but you can also try having someone do chest PT on you. Works well as long as it is done right.
